DESIGN / CARVE / CAST
Design, carve and casting course is a combination of the design, wax carving and casting. First there will be a health and safety briefing explaining the tools and equipment you will be using on the course. This course is designed for the beginner to the professional. Your design will be discussed and a sketch will be made.
Then instruction on the accurate transfer of the design to the model will commence. The main part of the course is understanding the many techniques involved in wax carving. There will also be a vacuum casting demonstration and all procedures of the process will be explained. If you would like to concentrate on a particular design project, just let us know when booking your course. On this course you also have the option to learn how to make a rubber mould and how to wax inject them.
Materials
All metal needed will be charged for separately, ask for advice on the specific needs for your project. Metals will be supplied to all our students.
