BEGINNER'S COURSE

This course is an introduction to Jewellery making for people who would like to learn the basic skills needed to hand make Jewellery. There will be a health and safety briefing and an explanation of the tools and equipment you will be using on your course.

We recommended that you start with a simple design when getting a feel for the metal and the hand tools possibly a simple pendant with textured surface, fob or ring. Getting used to the piercing saw, filing and shaping metal is a good place to start, using guilding metal or silver which can be purchased from the school. If you have a particular piece of Jewellery in mind that you would like to make, please let us know in advance so any preparation can be arranged before your arrival. This course will be from one to two days in duration. Check the schedule for dates available.

Materials

All metal needed will be charged for separately, ask for advice on the specific needs for your project. Metals will be supplied to all our students.
